My name is Dr. John Gillis, chronic pain and emergency room physician, and the founder of IntegrumMD. I have partnered with three experts in the hemp/CBD sector, hemp farmer John Wright of Franklin, Kentucky, CBD producer and retailer Ron Fousek of South Berwick, Maine, and European CBD marketer and retailer Andreas Hansel.
My goal is to bring the benefits of CBD (Cannabidiol) to the public with the best quality, service, and patient support, through a health and medical lens. My product comes from farmers with an expertise in growing the best quality hemp and is processed by experts who understand how to make the best full spectrum CBD product.
There are many options for CBD in the market, but many lack proper testing, are selling CBD isolate which lacks all the extra cannabinoids that make CBD most effective, and do not have key medical oversight to understand and advise on the best use of CBD products.
In addition to making sure that our products are rigorously tested and safe, I aim to provide an interactive customer experience by offering new clients the support they need in making the best decisions for CBD usage, via email and webinar support.
In Latin, Integrum means complete. I hope to help our clients complete their health and find improvement with pain, sleep, mood, and other conditions by helping them with the best products and information available.
How did it become important in treating patients? What is the IntegrumMD difference?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, a substance found in all types of the Cannabis plants (sativa, indica, ruderalis). Much of the focus in the broader cannabis world has been on the psychoactive component of cannabis plants, known as THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is known to get people “high”.
As a practicing physician, pain specialist and emergency medicine specialist, I have, for many years now, been investigating the benefits of different types of cannabis for my patients. My research and my extensive experience in treating patients with both THC and CBD have led me to believe in and prefer the benefits of CBD for a variety of medical conditions.
Science tells us that there are more than 100 “cannabinoids” or active components in a cannabis plant. THC is the best known, but CBD is quickly catching up in popularity. The main reason why this is occurring is that CBD does not make people “high,” and has wide benefits in pain control, inflammation, mood management, sleep, and much more. It has become a mainstay of medical and pain practices, including my own.
While THC is only legal in the US at the State level, and only in some states and for some purposes, CBD is legal all across the US since the Farm Bill was passed by Congress in late 2018.
It is now legal to grow cannabis plants with a THC concentration of less than 0.3% and with varying concentrations of CBD. These plants are commonly referred to as hemp plants, and the production of hemp has increased rapidly in the US since the passage of the farm bill. In turn, it is also now legal to sell CBD based products as long as they also have less than 0.3% THC.
The market for CBD products has also expanded rapidly. This is good for access to an important medicine, but is potentially unhelpful and dangerous because much of what is being sold is not made to exacting standards, is not tested, is not consistently formulated, and lacks the support to make sure patients understand the product they receive and how to properly use it.
This partially comes from the fact that the FDA has not enacted standards and regulations for production of CBD products, thus there is little consistency in CBD products. Many CBD products when tested have been found to contain no CBD at all, or less than advertised. In both cases, these products may not contain enough CBD to have any effect, and are confusing and unfair to patients.
Our goal from day one at Integrum MD has been to produce the best product with the best support to give our patients the best results for whatever condition is affecting them. This story starts with the hemp plant…..
It’s pretty simple….
Our Full Spectrum product contains
CBD oil and MCT oil as
a carrier oil, nothing else!
Every patient is different, and the ideal dose varies based on the condition being treated.
In general, the principle is “start low and go slow”. Our 1000 mg formulation is 33.3 mg per mL of active CBD, and our 500 mg formulation is 16.67 mg per mL of active CBD.
A common starting dose is a mL 0.5 mL of the full strength twice a day, or 1 mL of the 500 mg strength twice a day. To get the right dose, talk to your healthcare professional or CONSULT your Integrum MD! Reach out to me or one of our experienced CBD advisors at
